Architectural choices
What EagleOS is — and what it isn't.
Offline-first
Daily ops — read indicator → print slip → log — run completely offline. Internet is only needed for govt-portal sync, and those are queued + retried automatically.
Not degraded without WAN. The yard keeps weighing even when the ISP goes down.
Hardware-bonded
EagleOS speaks directly to RS-232 / USB-Serial indicators (Eagle's own SKUs + most 3rd-party boards). No middleware brokers. Adding a new indicator protocol is a Eagle-side change shipped in 24-48 hours.
Not a protocol abstraction layer. The hardware bond is the feature.
Govt-portal integrations on your behalf
FCI Hafed, Khanij Mitra (e-Rawanna), Anna Darpan — connections use the portal's official API with credentials held on the customer machine. Eagle never proxies portal traffic.
Not a portal middleman. No Eagle-side relay of govt data.

Operating system support
Windows 7 / 8 / 8.1 / 10 / 11 — 32-bit and 64-bit. No additional runtime installs required.
Database
Embedded SQLite by default (zero admin overhead). MSSQL connector available for multi-yard deployments rolling up to a central database.
User roles & access
Operator / Supervisor / Admin built-in. AD/SSO/LDAP integration on the Enterprise tier roadmap (Q4 2026).
Audit log
Every weighment, user action, and config change is logged with user + timestamp + IP. Audit log is append-only; export to CSV / PDF.
Data backup
Daily backup task ships built-in (Windows Task Scheduler). Backup file is a plain SQLite copy under C:\EagleOS\backups\ — your IT can rsync, robocopy, or hand to your existing tool.
Data residency
100% on the customer machine. Eagle has no access to weighment data. Govt-portal sync uses portal-direct TLS — no Eagle relay.
Update channel
EagleOS updates are signed installers downloaded over HTTPS. IT can stage updates in a test yard before rolling out fleet-wide.
Source escrow
Available on the Enterprise tier. Source held in a third-party escrow; released to you under defined trigger conditions (Eagle insolvency, end-of-support, etc.).
Disaster recovery
RPO target: 1 day (daily backup). RTO target: 4 hours (new install + DB restore). Customers with multi-yard fleets can run hot-failover with our MSSQL connector.
Regulatory posture
India compliance, plainly stated.
DPDPA 2023
EagleOS is a data processor, not a controller. Customer is the Data Fiduciary for weighment data on their yard. Eagle holds no personal data outside the customer's machine. Eagle's Grievance Officer is contactable at privacy@eagleweigh.com.
Legal Metrology Act 2009
Weighbridge indicators we manufacture are Model-Approved + stamped per Legal Metrology rules. EagleOS records the stamping ID + verification due-date on every slip.
GST e-invoicing
EagleOS exports weighment data in formats your Tally / SAP / Oracle workflow can ingest. Slip → invoice mapping is one of our standard integrations.

Hardware spec compliance is at the indicator level — model certificates available on the Quality page or by request. The software does not assert hardware compliance on its own.
